Step 1: match your post profile

Colorbond fence posts (C-posts) come in three shapes – A Lysaght, B Slimline and C Standard (double-ribbed). The extension post slides over your existing post, so it must be the same profile to sit neatly and screw off securely. Look at the top of one of your posts from above and compare it with the diagram.

  • A – Lysaght: Flat-faced post with a square top and a single wide channel. Common on older Lysaght-brand fences.
  • B – Slimline: Narrow post with small, closely spaced ribs. Common on newer fences in NSW.
  • C – Standard (double-ribbed): Wider post with two pronounced ribs on each face. The most common profile in Sydney.
  • D – Not sure – match it for me: Choose this and email a close-up photo of the top of one post to [email protected] after ordering. We match the extension post for you at no extra cost.

Extensions also rely on the existing posts and footings being sound. If a post is loose or rusted at the base, an extension is not the right fix – we can repair it first.

Step 2: choose your Colorbond colour

Every kit comes in the full Colorbond fencing range at the same price, and the frame can be a different colour to the insert. Other suppliers use older or alternative names – they are listed under each colour on the kit pages so you can match what you already have.

Delivery, pick-up and returns

Courier delivery: at checkout we fetch live quotes from our freight partners via Shippit for your suburb and show each service with its price and estimated transit time. Panels travel as long parcels (2.4 m or 3.1 m), so not every courier can carry them to every area – if no quote is available we will arrange freight manually, just call us.

Pick-up: Collect from our Blacktown-area depot once your order is ready. We email you when it is ready to collect – usually within 14 days of payment, sooner for stocked 300 mm inserts.

Lead time: We aim to deliver within 14 days of full payment. Limited stock of 300 mm inserts can be delivered or collected sooner.

Returns: As materials are made to order, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for incorrect choice. Please make sure the post profile, length, height and colours match your existing fence before paying – if you are unsure, choose 'Match it for me' or email a photo of a post top to [email protected] first.

Extension kit questions

What comes in a DIY fence extension kit?
Each kit extends one fence panel: two Colorbond C-post extensions that slide over your existing posts, a new top rail, your chosen insert (louvre, lattice, slat or solid sheet) and a bag of colour-matched screws. Sheet kits include two rails and an uncut 1.8 m sheet.
How do I choose the right kit?
Pick the height you want to add (300 mm or 600 mm), the look (louvre for privacy with airflow, lattice for the classic topper, slat for a modern look, sheet for full privacy), then match the panel length to your bays (2.36 m standard, 3.1 m extended), the post profile and your Colorbond colour.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is quoted live at checkout by our freight partners (via Shippit) for your suburb – you see each courier's price and estimated transit time before paying. Long panels are oversize freight, so regional prices vary. Pick-up in Sydney's west is free.
How long until I receive my order?
We aim to deliver within 14 days of full payment. Limited stock of 300 mm inserts can be delivered or collected sooner.
Can I return a kit if I ordered the wrong profile?
As materials are made to order, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for incorrect choice. Please make sure the post profile, length, height and colours match your existing fence before paying – if you are unsure, choose 'Match it for me' or email a photo of a post top to [email protected] first.
Do you install extensions?
Yes, across Sydney. Every kit page has a 'supply + install quote' button – tell us the number of panels and we reply with a price. Installation is quoted separately and is not part of the online checkout.

Not sure which kit you need?

Email a photo of a post top and your fence length to [email protected], or call 0421 233 434 – we will tell you exactly what to order.
